Everything you need to know before working with us. No question is too
small.
Roofing
Roofing Questions
That depends on a few things: the age of your roof, the extent of
the damage, and whether you're dealing with ongoing leaks. If your
roof is under 15 years old and the damage is localized (like a few
missing shingles or a small leak), a repair is usually the way to
go. But if you're seeing widespread issues, multiple leaks, or
shingles that are curling and cracking across large areas, a
replacement makes more sense long-term. We'll give you an honest
assessment—no upselling.
Most residential roof replacements take 1 to 3 days. A standard
single-family home is usually done in a single day. Larger homes,
multi-story properties, or roofs with complex designs might take a
bit longer. Weather can affect timing too—if we're in the middle of
a roof and a storm rolls in, we'll secure everything and resume when
it's safe. We'll give you a clear timeline before we start.
We work primarily with architectural asphalt shingles, which are the
industry standard for durability and value. We carry products from
trusted manufacturers like GAF and CertainTeed. For most homes,
architectural shingles are the right choice—they look great, hold up
well in Chicago weather, and come with solid warranties. If you have
specific preferences or requirements, let us know and we'll walk you
through your options.
Yes. We've helped many homeowners navigate the insurance claim
process after storm damage. We'll meet with your adjuster, document
the damage thoroughly, and provide a detailed estimate. Keep in
mind: we work for you, not the insurance company. Our job is to make
sure your roof gets fixed properly, period.
Paving
Paving Questions
Fresh asphalt needs time to harden and cure—usually about 24 to 48
hours before you can walk on it, and about 3 to 5 days before you
can park vehicles on it. Full curing takes a bit longer (up to a
year for the surface to reach maximum hardness), but your driveway
will be fully functional within a week. We'll give you specific
guidelines based on your project and current weather conditions.
With proper installation and basic maintenance, an asphalt driveway
should last 20 to 30 years. The key word is "proper"—this means a
solid gravel base, correct asphalt thickness, and good drainage. We
don't cut corners on the foundation because that's what makes the
difference between a driveway that lasts and one that starts
cracking in a few years.
Absolutely—this is one of the most important parts of the job. We
start with a properly compacted gravel base (typically 4 to 8 inches
depending on your soil conditions and expected load). This base is
what gives your driveway its strength and stability. Some
contractors skip this step to save money; we never do. A beautiful
surface on a weak base will fail, and we're not interested in
setting you up for problems.
Yes, we recommend it. Sealcoating is like sunscreen for your
asphalt—it protects against UV rays, moisture, and oil spills while
giving your driveway a fresh, dark appearance. We typically suggest
waiting about 6 to 12 months after installation before the first
seal coat, then doing it every 2 to 3 years after that. It's one of
the best investments you can make in extending the life of your
driveway.
General
Business & General Questions
No. Every crew that shows up at your property works for us—and only
us. We don't subcontract because we can't subcontract our standards.
This means you deal with the same people from estimate to finished
job. No surprises, no finger-pointing if something goes wrong. We're
accountable for every step of the process.
Yes on both counts. We're fully licensed to operate in Illinois and
carry comprehensive general liability insurance. This protects you,
your home, and our workers in the unlikely event of an accident.
Don't hire any contractor who can't provide proof of insurance—it's
not worth the risk.
Absolutely—free, no-obligation estimates. We'll come to your
property, assess the work needed, and provide a detailed written
estimate. No pressure, no gimmicks. We'll tell you honestly what you
need and what it's going to cost. You can take your time deciding,
and there's never any obligation.
It varies by season and current workload, but we can usually
schedule most projects within 1 to 2 weeks of your approval. During
peak seasons (spring and fall for roofing, summer for paving), it
might take a little longer. Emergency repairs we can often get to
sooner. Just ask when you call, and we'll give you a realistic
timeline.
We're based in Orland Park and serve the greater Chicago land area,
including Tinley Park, Oak Lawn, Homer Glen, Mokena, Frankfort,
Palos Hills, Bridgeview, and surrounding suburbs. If you're not sure
whether you're in our service area, just give us a call. If we're
not close enough to serve you efficiently, we'll tell you and might
be able to recommend someone who is.
We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Payment terms
are typically split: a deposit to secure your spot on our schedule,
with the balance due upon completion. We don't offer financing
through us, but we're happy to discuss payment timing if you need
flexibility. The bottom line: we'll work with you to make this as
straightforward as possible.
